Who we are
Let’s Change My Village (LCM) was established in 2019 as a Community Based Organization (CBO), registered with Rukiga District Local Government. IT has a membership of over 500 members comprised of 5 major groups. LCM agrotourism farm offers agro-tourism activities such as, exploring different local foods where they can engage in activities like seed collection, planting, harvesting, and processing of various crops. On their exploration, our visitors are greeted with panoramic views of the lush green hills and valleys that define the landscape of this part of Uganda. The highlands are characterized by rugged terrain with series of steep hills and valleys, the area is elevated with altitudes ranging from 1,200 and 2,000 meters above sea level. The elevated scenic viewpoints provide an ideal backdrop for photography, allowing visitors to capture the breathtaking landscapes that define this region. The canter’s agricultural farm diversification immerses travellers in eco-friendly farming practices inviting travellers to reconnect with nature and celebrate cultural diversity. The well landscaped evergreen farm creates a picturesque setting that enchants every traveller who comes by.
The fresh air, combined with the soothing sounds of nature, offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in cities. Whether you’re traveling solo, with family, or friends, this center invites you to take a moment for reflection and relaxation. That’s not all, Our quaint but gorgeous village is inhabited by community members that are so down to us. Visitors are welcomed with open arms, offering a sight into local customs and the vibrant lifestyle of the communities here. The long-cultivated landraces including African Indigenous Vegetables, Sorghum, peas and Irish potatoes have traditionally been the most significant contributor to food security, nutrition and incomes for many smallholder farmers in in the sub region. The potent brew that tastes nothing like alcohol(enturire, omuramba ) is the most socially drunk to quench thirsty. This mouth-watering fermented drink is obtained from a mixture of honey and the world’s most versatile crop, sorghum. The cooler temperatures offer our visitors a feel of what is known as the Greenland of Africa; motivating them to camp fire for long hours and use double blankets at time of bed.
